In 2018, while enjoying a hike in the scenic landscapes of northern New Jersey, Pete and a group of dogs inadvertently encountered a black bear. The situation quickly escalated as the bear, startled and aggressive, began attacking the dogs. Rather than flee in fear, Pete exhibited remarkable bravery. He stepped forward to confront the bear, putting himself in harm’s way to give his fellow dogs a chance to escape to safety. This selfless act not only highlighted Pete’s loyalty but also demonstrated the extraordinary lengths to which dogs will go for those they love.

So our friends lost their sweet setter Pete today. He and some other dogs surprised a black bear while on a hike. Pete bravely protected the rest of the crew who got to safety.
